This one deserves a frame!

Toes! I love my kids toes!

Notice that one foot is bare. I came into the kitchen the other day to find Zeke happily munching on his sock. Literally, Munching. As if it were a delicious snack. He seemed rather pleased.

Sometimes I call him Dapper Dan.

Boy, Jake didn't know how right he would be when he named this blog. This week Zeke turned 6 months old and subsequently had his 6 month Well Baby check up. He weighed in at a whopping 14 pounds 1 ounce! That's actually smaller than Ayla at 6 months!! (And we thought no baby could be smaller than Ayla) That puts him in the 4th percentile for weight.

Despite that, he is growing (albeit slowly) and changing as he should. He sits up on his own now and is a little closer to mobility each day. He scoots around in pursuit of toys and is almost able to get up on his hands and knees. He has rolled over from back to belly for a long time, but just yesterday (11/13) figured out how to roll belly to back. Now you really can't leave him, even for a second! He barrel rolls from one end of the room to the other. Each time he gets to the belly-to-back part he looks at you and grins as if to say, "look what I can do!"

Like his older sister he is very vocal. His most used sound right now is "GA!"-you can actually have entire conversations with him made up of back and forth "ga"- but is also commonly using "B" and a "TH" sounds. Sometimes he puts the two together and says "booth" - it sounds like he is saying "Ruth" ! His arms have a mind of their own. He loves to drum on things or beat one toy against another. He even has a tendency to beat the top of his head with his hand over and over which can make bedtime kind of frustrating. Just when you thing he's asleep, his right arm will start drumming his head and then wake him up!

Zeke is still the smiliest, most pleasant and charming little guy I have ever met! He definitely has an attitude when he wants to (like if you try to rock him sitting down vs. walking around, for example) But it's nice to know he mostly chooses to be happy!

He is getting more affectionate, too. He nuzzles with Jake a lot and really enjoys kisses. That's it for now. Happy 6 months Zeke!
