Happy Dog Day!

Hello! We hope many of you are still checking in every once in awhile. Happy December (and lots and lots of snow around here!) to everyone! Ruth had a Happy Birthday yesterday and we had an overnight guest in the form of one Java (Weiss) which definitely helped. Java's owner is a friend from my work and he and his family were kind enough to let us borrow one of their dogs for a night. I arranged it with him unknown to Ruth, so it was a nice surprise for her. She has been quite dog deprived since we had to put Max down now over 6 months ago. We still miss you and love you dooter -

All of us had lots of fun with Java. I played in the snow with her, Ruth had some good snuggle time and Ayla like to reach over and feel her fur. She wasn't afraid at all and smiled her big ol smile per usual when Java would come by. This bodes well for the possibility of future dogs living in our home. :) It was a great night and thanks again to Josh, Jess, Hans and Maddie - and of course Java.

Today is actually Ayla's 6 month "birthday" as well! She has her well baby visit next week so we'll have a report next week. She's still tiny but full of lots of energy and big smiles. Sometimes I swear she's going to crawl soon but who knows how long that'll be - we should enjoy her immobilty while it lasts I suppose! :)
