A-Y-L-A

Too bad the National Spelling Bee is over otherwise we'd be entering Ayla - yep, she's learning how to spell - her first word - AYLA! Ok, so maybe it's more memorization than knowing how to spell, but it's still fun to say to her, "how do you spell Ayla?" And she says "A-Y-L-A, Ayla!" Then she'll usually follow that up with "Daddy's with a D and Mommy's with an M". This comes from our pre-bedtime rocking chair sessions. In Ayla's room are the letters spelling her name as you see in the picture (that Ruth made look so nice) and from that she's learned how to spell her name. : )

Right now Ayla just ran into the closet after she pulled out 12 envelopes from the drawer next to me, counting them all out. She's calling it the mail and running all over the house delivering right now - apparently there's a stop in the closet. Oh, and apparently it's a candy graham as she's singing "happy and you know it clap your hands" inside the closet in the dark with the door closed. That literally all just happened - I gave you the play by play. : )

Otherwise, Ayla actually hasn't been feeling to good the last few days - battling a fever and pretty good cough. She seems to be having a energy spurt right now though - which is nice to see her running around. Oh! Looks like we're running out again. I'm getting a "hold me, hold me...snuggggie" in a little raspy voice. Poor baby... : ( Hope she feels better soon!

Oh, and a quick tangent but congrats to my parents who celebrated 35 years of marriage yesterday!
